A brief summary:

* Starting out, I was trained up and gained two and a half years experience on AutoCAD working as a General Arrangement Draughtsperson for Robinson Construction.

* Seeking further understanding, I was granted a three month ‘in-house’ training programme, which comprised of two months working on the workshop floor, two months out on site and one month in the contracts department.

* Successfully acquiring understanding of the steel industry, I was then trained up on StruCAD and have a total of five years experience as a Detail Draughtsperson on this programme.

* To understand the software and broaden my scope of its application I worked for AceCad Software (UK) as a Technical Support Engineer.

* In total I have been in the steelwork industry for over nine years. I am an intermediate level draughtsman and have detailed jobs comprising of large span portals; hips; curved steel; and cold rolled.
